A low-cost single-stage oil rotary pump can perform roughing for turbo molecular pumps.

The "Masuda Vacuum Pump HV Type" is a liquid-sealed vacuum pump that boasts high durability. At a water temperature of 15°C, it can achieve a vacuum level of 2 kPa (15 Torr). If a higher vacuum is required, by using an optional dedicated air ejector, it can reach 0.7 kPa (5 Torr) with a single stage and 0.3 kPa (2 Torr) with a two-stage setup. Since the only rotating part inside the pump is the impeller and there are no sliding metal parts, there are no failures due to wear of components, and it can also suction gases containing vapor and dust.
